The Scottish born actor had just finished a photo shoot with Andy Gotts, who famously shot portraits of the Bond cast before, including Daniel Craig.

Carrying quite a haul, the Game of Thrones star,  lugged two large leather satchels and a dry cleaning bag as he loaded luggage into the back of the premium vehicle.

Wearing his curly hair loosely slicked back, Richard brushed off the chilly London day in a wool-lined jacket and sunglasses.

Meanwhile, Bond producers are reportedly on the brink of approaching Richard to take on the most famous role in British film.

The Scottish star’s portrayal of a steely diplomatic protection officer in BBC drama Bodyguard and his bedroom antics with Home Secretary Julia Montague, played by Keeley Hawes, made him the bookies’ favourite to be the next 007.

It is understood that Barbara Broccoli, the executive producer at Eon Productions who has the final say on all Bond characters, is likely to approach Richard in the next few days.

A source said: ‘It’s seriously looking like he [Madden] is going to get the job. Not only is he on top of Barbara’s list, but she is preparing to offer the role.’

If confirmed, Richard’s selection would end a year of speculation as to who will succeed screen star Daniel, 50.

There was talk that Barbara, 58, would choose the first black Bond or even cast a woman. For a long time, Idris Elba, 46, was the frontrunner after his impressive performance in the TV series Luther.

While Richard is the bookies favourite to take on the iconic role, others touted to take over as the eighth Bond include Tom Hiddleston, Tom Hardy and Henry Cavil, with Emily Blunt and Gillian Anderson believed to be the women who are being considered for the role.
