Waller-Bridge’s possible involvement isn’t the only thing suggesting that the next Bond film may be a little different to those we’ve seen before. Oscar winner Rami Malek is slated to appear as a villain in Bond 25, while Billy Magnussen (Game Night) is believed to have been cast in the film as a CIA agent.

And before leaving Bond 25, Boyle suggested that the depiction of ‘Bond girls’ would have to change in the wake of the #MeToo movement

“You write in real time,” Boyle said, when asked if his ‘Bond girl’ would reflect the #MeToo era.

“You acknowledge the legacy of the world [of Bond] and you write in the world – but you also write in the modern world as well.”

Bond 25 may still be struggling to find its groove, but if anyone can get it in line, it’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
