Veteran local health care executive Tommy Lewis has joined Tivity Health to lead that company’s investor relations and transformation teams.
Lewis comes to Franklin-based Tivity, the former Healthways, as a senior vice president after spending nearly 15 years with Change Healthcare and its predecessors Emdeon and WebMD. There, he rose from marketing VP to also oversee investor relations and growth initiatives and was chief of staff to former CEO George Lazenby. When Emdeon joined forces with Change Healthcare and then a big division of McKesson, he also held customer experience and strategic enterprise initiatives, including the integration of the $6 billion McKesson deal.
“We are excited to add someone with Tommy’s broad industry experience to our leadership team,” said Tivity CEO Donato Tramuto. “His thorough understanding of how transformation drives growth and impacts customers, combined with his exemplary communications experience make him the ideal candidate to effectively detail how our transformational initiatives will impact our investors and fulfill our fiduciary responsibilities.”
Lewis, who started work last Friday, is filling the role long held by Chip Wochomurka. The latter will stay with Tivity through year’s end to help with the transition.
Lewis is the immediate past president of TN HIMSS, where he is still a board member, and is a member of the Partnership 2020 advisory board and the Nashville Technology Council’s board of directors. He earned a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Murray State University and an MBA degree with a concentration in finance from Middle Tennessee State University.
