Northern Irish actor has said it’s “cool” to be one of the stars touted to become the next James Bond.

The County Down-born star is among the high-profile names being suggested to take over the iconic role when Daniel Craig steps down.

Jamie Dornan said it’s “cool” to be linked to 007 role

The star of The Fall and Fifty Shades of Grey spoke to the Press Association about potentially becoming 007 at the premiere of his new film My Dinner with Herve in Los Angeles on Thursday, saying he “doesn’t think” about playing Bond.

He added: “You cannot really plan anything in this industry.

“I never have goals in it, really, I never have parts that I would want to chase or anything, just see what happens.

“But it’s cool to be in those conversations.”

Other actors who are frequently linked to the role include Luther star Idris Elba, The Night Manager actor Tom Hiddleston and Bodyguard and Game of Thrones actor Richard Madden.
