CLARKSBURG — James Bond “Jim” Davis, 85, of Nutter Fort, WV, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018, in his sleep at home following an extended illness.
He was born at Salem on June 9, 1932, a son of the late Cleo J. and Thelma B. Davis.
James married Patricia J. Barrick on December 19, 1951, and she preceded him in death on February 26, 2011, after 59 years of marriage.
In addition to his parents and wife, James was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathryn Elizabeth Davis in 1985, and a brother, Charles B. Davis.
James is survived by a daughter, Cynthia E. “Cindy” Calandros and husband Ted; a granddaughter, Julia E. Calandros; nephew, Danny Lynch and wife Teresa, niece, Michele Pearce and husband William, other nephews: Russ Davis of Henderson, NV, Steve Davis of Germantown, TN, and a sister-in-law, Marie Davis of Henderson, NV.
Jim served in the United States Army on the island of Okinawa during the Korean Conflict. He worked at several glass plants as a mold maker and foreman.
His daughter offers a heart-felt thank you to Dr. Rhodes, Dr. Davis, and the nurses and staff at UHC, and the nurses of Peoples Hospice. Thank you for your support and prayers and all the kindness shown to James.
The family also request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Peoples Hospice 327 Medical Park Drive, Bridgeport, WV 26330.
Family and friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 E. Main Street, Clarksburg, WV, on Friday, May 25, 2018, from 11 a.m. until the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Dustin McCune presiding of the United Methodist Temple. Interment will follow at the Chestnut Street I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
