Richard Madden was a part of Cannes 2019 for the premiere of his movie, Rocketman. During the press conference for the film, Richard Madden was quizzed about the James Bond casting rumours.

For years we have seen some of the most charismatic actors take up the role of James Bond in cinematic history. From Sean Connery to Pierce Brosnan to Daniel Craig, all these stars have added their own spin into the most popular spy of them all. For Bond 25, Daniel, who seemed to be against playing James Bond any more is reprising his role, for what might be the last time ever. Hence, the casting rumours for the next Bond have already begun. And who’s on top of the list? Game of Thrones and Bodyguard actor Richard Madden.

More often than not, Richard has tackled these rumours. Making another round, at Cannes 2019, Madden was asked about the James Bond speculations yet again. The Golden Globe winner was recently at the French Riviera for the premiere of his upcoming release, Rocketman, which is a biopic on Elton John and stars Taron Egerton as the iconic musician. A journalist asked Richard about his odds of being the next James Bond and how he dressed up like Bond with the crisp white blazer at the Cannes 2019 red carpet.

In response, Madden stated, “It’s very flattering to be involved in that conversation at all, but it’s all just talk, and I’m sure next week it’ll be someone different.”

Taron chipped in and quipped the Bond theme song which had Richard in a haze of laughter!
