As the first season of “Titans” comes to a close, DC Universe prepares for its next live-action superhero adventure – setting the premiere date for “Doom Patrol”.
The subscription streaming site revealed the Feb. 15 premiere date on Friday in a short teaser clip which sees the cast of misfit superheroes posing for an awkward family-style holiday photo.
The clip also provides our first look at Jovian Wade’s Cyborg, Diane Guerrero’s Crazy Jane, and Timothy Dalton as Dr. Niles Caulder (aka The Chief). Matt Bomer’s Negative Man, Brendan Fraser’s Robotman, and April Bowlby’s Elasti-Woman were previously introduced in the fourth episode of “Titans”.
Based on the DC comic, which dates back to the 1960s, “Doom Patrol” follows the adventures of a group of outsiders who form an uneasy alliance under the leadership of Dr. Caulder, a genius-level mastermind.
Caulder was portrayed by Bruno Bichir in “Titans” but has been replaced by Dalton in the upcoming series.
According to the DC Universe synopsis, “The Doom Patrol’s members each suffered horrible accidents that gave them superhuman abilities — but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatized and downtrodden, the team found purpose through The Chief, who brought them together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence — and to protect Earth from what they find.”
Alongside the trailer, DC Universe also released a selection of first-look character posters.
“Doom Patrol” premieres February 15 on DC Universe streaming service.
