Of all the dumb decisions that the Bond producers have made through the years (hiring George Lazenby, doing arctic tsunami kitesurfing in Die Another Day, making Quantum of Solace) firing the director Danny Boyle from the latest, and 25th, Bond movie might’ve been the worst. That is, until they announced his replacement.

Cary Fukunaga is a genius choice. Nobody saw it coming. I certainly didn’t (I mostly had my eyes covered and my ears blocked while repeatedly chanting, “Anyone but Christopher Nolan! Anyone but Christopher Nolan!”).
