  1. the saint had something called CLASS,STYLE MOST OF ALL PLAIN GOOD ACTING,WRITING,DIRECTING AS DID CLASSICS LIKE AVENGERS NO ONE WILL EVER FORGET MRS.PEEL NOR SIMON TEMPLAR.

  2. Ever notice series like this and The Avengers never relied on obscene language, sex and extreme violence to get their point across. They were, and are, so entertaining and the characters so good, it wasn't needed. However, series like The Saint would be considered too un PC now as The Saint was a white upper class Englishman.

  3. Although color TV wouldn't come to Britain until 1967 (on BBC-2) and 1969 (on BBC-1 and ITV), many British TV producers started shooting shows on color film in the mid-sixties, hoping to get their shows broadcast in America, where ABC, CBS and NBC were completing their conversion to color broadcasting.

In the UK, these shows were often initially broadcast in black-and-white, only to be finally seen years later in color as reruns.
