Take a look at the energetic new trailer released for The Foreigner, the upcoming action-thriller that finds Jackie Chan in serious bad-ass form.
Directed by Casino Royale helmer Martin Campbell, The Foreigner tells of a London businessman (Chan) whose past skills are put in use when his daughter is killed in a terrorist attack. Pierce Brosnan plays a corrupt government official.
It’s a pretty good trailer for the thriller, which may or may not find Campbell on winning form. After all, Casino Royale and Goldeneye aside, he’s also the man behind Green Lantern and Beyond Borders. Still, it looks like a muscular pic, and one that looks to have Chan in fine form as an ass-kicking father out for vengeance. We’ll see.
The Foreigner hits US cinemas on October 13.
Synopsis for The Foreigner:
The Foreigner, starring Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan, is a timely action thriller from the director of Casino Royale. The film tells the story of humble London businessman Quan (Chan), whose long-buried past erupts in a revenge-fueled vendetta when the only person left for him to love — his teenage daughter — is taken from him in a senseless act of politically-motivated terrorism. In his relentless search for the identity of the terrorists, Quan is forced into a cat-and-mouse conflict with a British government official (Brosnan), whose own past may hold clues to the identities of the elusive killers.
