“This is the best film memorabilia collection I’ve ever seen.”

That’s what Chris Aston, from Aston’s Auctioneers , says in the above video while marvelling at a room full of artefacts from the movies.

Original items from films such as Back to the Future , Psycho and the James Bond franchise were gathered in a room somewhere in Yeovil, Somerset.

The impressive personal museum of memorabilia has sadly now been boxed up, ready for a gigantic sale across two days in September.

But thankfully Aston’s Auctioneers put together a wonderful video of the collection while it was still in place in Somerset.

The mystery house even included a replica Second World War pub.

Whoever was behind the collection wishes to remain anonymous but he was willing to reveal it was put together in Yeovil , Mr Aston explained.

Stephen Kennedy, a film expert and consultant for the auctioneers, is working with his son, a trained illustrator, to value all the items in the collection.

Impressive items include:

  • shirt worn by James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan in Die Another Day
  • shirt worn by Christopher Lloyd in Back to the Future
  • original Goldfinger script
  • autographs from Tom Hanks and Russell Crowe
  • sword from Gladiator
  • directors chairs signed by James Bond actors and actresses
  • original drawings for Tee Hee’s mechanical arm in Live and Let Die
  • original drawings of weapons from the James Bond films
  • torpedo props used in Bond films

…and many more!

Mr Kennedy said: “The collection is from a collector who is very, very interested in and dedicated to films. It contains many original items used in the films themselves. He displayed them in a museum format in his home.”

The Back to the Future shirt, worn during filming by Doc (aka actor Christopher Lloyd) is the most impressive item, according to Mr Kennedy’s son.

He estimates it could fetch between £2,000-3,000 on auction day but the price really depends on how many dedicated fans show up.

For Mr Kennedy himself, the best items in the Yeovil collection are first edition James Bond novels, written by Ian Fleming.

He said: “I think that it shows you the old fashioned James Bond legacy and is a good starting point, showing people where the story began.”

Aston’s, based in Dudley in the Midlands, will auction off the Yeovil collection on Tuesday, September 19 and Thursday, September 21.
