The music star has reportedly been approached by film bosses to star in a remake of the 1968 classic movie.

The Someone Like You singer is believed to be considering taking on the role of loveable prostitute Nancy in Oliver!, according to The Sun. The role would see her sing the signature ballad As Long As He Needs Me.

A source close to Adele said: “It would be a major part for her and she’s seriously considering it.

“She’s talked about Angelo being her number one priority and she sees this as a role that he could appreciate too. It would be a new challenge for her but one she would definitely be up for.”

West End’s Sir Cameron Mackintosh and Working Title Films will produce the movie – the same pair who helped make the 2012 film Les Miserables.

The last time we saw Adele on the big screen was when she voiced Skyfall for the 2012 James Bond film.

Oliver! is based on Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist and starred Ron Moody as crook Fagin and Shani Wallis as Nancy.

When asked of her potential Broadway debut, Adele replied, “Like when I’m 50.”

Moma Rose is a role recently undertaken by Imedla Staunton in London, a movie adaptation is expected on the big screen starring Barbra Streisand.
